NFL/NBA,Celebrity Moms To Model At Holiday Fashion Extravaganza

Dallas, TX., October 30, 2007 – The mothers of Oscar nominee and actor Will Smith, actors Mos Def and Duane Martin will join the mothers of NBA and NFL players as models in a Jubilee Celebrity Fashion Extravaganza benefiting the Innercity Community Development Corporation (ICDC) at 7 p.m., Saturday, December 1, 2007 at the Dallas Trade Mart.
Carolyn Smith joins Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Mark Clayton’s Mother, JacQuetta Clayton, as celebrity co-chairs. Other notable mothers include Pam Long, mother of Richard “RIP” Hamilton, Detroit Pistons, and Bonita Jackson, whose son Adrian Peterson is the current NFL leader in rushing and a running back for the Minnesota Vikings, plus, 14 other NBA and NFL moms to support affordable housing in Dallas.
The Jubilee Celebrity Fashion Extravaganza features some of the top fashion designers in the industry, the celebrity fashion extravaganza and will be hosted by radio personality Skip Murphy and television anchor KTXA 21. This event marks the first time that this many celebrity mothers have convened in one place for one charity benefit.
“For the past 21 years we have worked diligently to bring quality, affordable housing to the South Dallas and Fair Park community. It is very encouraging that these celebrity moms want to help us,” said Diane Ragsdale, former Dallas city council woman and managing director of ICDC. “Collaboration between private individuals, corporations and non profits can positively change lives for underserved communities.”
The Jubilee Celebrity Fashion Extravaganza is presented by American Airlines and KTXA 21 and sponsored by The Dallas Hyatt Regency, driversselect and The Dallas Weekly.
